At Sherwood Park Alliance, we want to make it easy for you to learn and grown in your understanding of Jesus.
Error
You will experience worship through music, prayer, and Bible teaching. Our services are roughly 65 minutes in length. We offer programming for kids from Nursery to Grade 6 during all our weekend services. Visit our Kids page for any more information you might need.

At our core though, we want to be a church for you to find community and relationship, and to be encouraged and supported as you follow Jesus. We believe that He loves you and has a plan and purpose for your life, and we'd love to help you realize it and pursue it.
We are affiliated with The Alliance Canada and love partnering with our denomination to reach people locally and globally with the good news of Christ as well as providing practical and physical support to those who need it most.

We desire to be a church where you feel like you belong, no matter who you are, where you're coming from, or what your faith journey looks like. We want to make it as easy as possible for you to get connected to our community and build relationships with others who call this place home.
We don't want you to stop there, though. We believe it's important not only to find a place where you belong, but also one that points you towards Jesus and helps you to become more like Him. Each year, our church leadership identifies priorities for the ministry year through prayer and seeking God's leading. Some priorities might remain on the list for several years, while others may change depending on what God is doing in our church.
Sacred Practices are time-tested and biblically inspired ways that that we become more like Jesus.
A couple times each year, we include a teaching series called Sacred Practices where we spend time digging into one of the practices and lean into it as a community.
These practices aren't meant to help us pursue perfection, or earn God's love, but to give us tools and resources to become more like Jesus as He transforms us by the Holy Spirit. They give us opportunities to slow down, quiet the noise, and focus our attention on God's voice and leading.

Sabbath is more than time off or a change in routine. It's also not just a short break designed to get us ready to go back to work. Sabbath, when experienced as God intended, can be the best part of the week. It's an invitation to eat, play, dance, sing, pray, laugh, tell stories, read, paint, walk, and watch creation in its fullness. It’s a day to encounter God’s delight.

Advent felt like the most appropriate time to explore the idea of simplicity. When the world around us gets busier, spends more, plans more, attends more, this Sacred Practice invites us to live in a different way.
Despite the unprecedented connectivity of the modern era, genuine community is vanishing. Isolation, transience, and superficiality can sabotage our formation into people of mature love. But through Jesus, we enter a new kind of family that offers intimacy, joy, healing, and commitment.

Sherwood Park Alliance Church is a part of The Alliance Canada (Christian and Missionary Alliance), which is a group of more than 400 local churches across Canada that aim to be Christ-centred, Spirit-empowered, and Mission-focused.
We follow the teachings and example of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Our faith is in Him. We believe the Bible is the living and true Word of God. It is an account of God's faithfulness and love for all of us, and the guide for the way we live our lives.

Every year we dedicate a weekend to looking back on all that God has done in our church over the past year and what we believe He is leading us towards in the year to come. It's also an opportunity for several of our pastors to share about the ministry areas that they lead.
