The Other Side of Christmas

As we enter the season of Advent, we find ourselves drawn into a sacred rhythm of waiting, longing, and anticipation. The word "Advent" itself means "coming"—a reminder that this season marks both the arrival of Jesus in Bethlehem and our expectant waiting for His return. As we reflect on the familiar themes of Advent—Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love—we recognize that they are not just abstract ideas or seasonal sentiments. They are deeply tied to the person of Jesus Christ and the transformative power of His life, death, and resurrection.

It’s not just about the celebration of Jesus' birth in Bethlehem—it’s about what His coming means for us today and how it radically transforms the way we live. This season of Advent invites us to look beyond the nativity scenes and traditions, to see the other side of Christmas. The deeper, eternal realities that Jesus’ birth brings into our lives.

We will explore how the themes of Advent—Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love—are not just seasonal feelings but are anchored in the life and mission of Jesus. These four themes are not abstract ideals; they are tangible realities that shape how we live, how we respond to challenges, and how we engage with the world around us.
In a world of endless noise and distraction Jesus invites us to find rest for our souls-alone with Him.
In person Saturday’s at 6 pm, and Sunday’s at 10 am.

*Please note there is NO SATURDAY SERVICE on December 21.

As we move through this season of Advent, let’s look beyond the manger to the fuller meaning of Christmas. Let the themes of Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love shape us, not just in this season but in every season, as we live in the light of Christ’s first coming and eagerly await His return. This is the other side of Christmas—the transforming truth that shapes our lives, our hearts, and our world.
