I AM: The Good Shepherd
Happy Friday Everyone,
I just looked at the rundown for this weekend’s gatherings and noticed that Jesse and the rest of our worship leaders are starting the service with the song “Glorious Day.” How fitting, though, for reasons other than what you might be thinking! It sounds like a song about the weather, which by the way, is glorious right now. But the song is about what happens when our lives are oriented around something other than ourselves. It’s a song about what happens when our lives are centred on Someone, and that’s Jesus Christ, the Good Shepherd, who leads us out of darkness and into the light of His glorious day.
This weekend we’re continuing our series on the I AM statements of Jesus in the Gospel of John. I hope you can get outside and enjoy the warmth and the sunshine between now and then. But once Saturday night or Sunday morning rolls around, I look forward to welcoming you inside as we celebrate our Good Shepherd and worship together. This is a communion weekend, so if you’re participating online, try to have some elements ready to have your own table experience wherever you happen to be.
