Belong & Become: AND

Dear Church Family,

This week 97 students will be graduating from SCA Secondary. Graduation is an opportunity to celebrate and reflect on the accomplishments of our students in their educational journey. This is another opportunity for our church and school community to celebrate God’s goodness and faithfulness to Strathcona Christian Academy and its students for another year. The SCA Secondary class of 2023 has not only received an outstanding education based on curriculum, but they have also been taught to love God, love others, and to lean into God’s calling and purpose for them as they head into this next chapter of their lives. This education is possible through the leadership, generosity, and prayer of Sherwood Park Alliance Church and our members over the past 43 years. Through this support, our graduating students have had the opportunity to put their learning and faith into action by serving the homeless, sharing the gospel of Christ with children at camps, acting against injustice in our community and world, and using their gifts to make a robot that helps with food production for people in need.
The future is bright. Thanks to the amazing SCA staff who demonstrate Christ to our students daily, the SCA Society and its members who serve our school so faithfully, and the prayer and support from our church community, our students are well-equipped for the next chapter of their lives. This collective success is embodied by the words of Paul when he writes, “...whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable . .. if anything is excellent or praiseworthy, think about such things." Philippians 4:8
